The Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards recognize extraordinary Albertans whose volunteer efforts have contributed to the well-being of their community and fellow community members.
Youth, adult and senior categories
Two awards are given annually on or around International Volunteer Day, December 5, in these categories:
- youth (up to 24 years old)
- adult
- senior
Breaking Barriers category
This year, the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards are introducing a new Breaking Barriers category to recognize exceptional volunteers who are working to create communities that are diverse and inclusive.
Three awards will be presented to individuals or groups who volunteer in these areas:
- addressing racism
- advocating for LGBTQ2S+ inclusion
- fighting gender discrimination
Nominations close on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.
