Youth Leadership Education and Development (LEaD) Program introduces youth 14-25 years old to various volunteer and civic engagement opportunities through event planning, project coordination and various workshops. The youth are trained to initiate new ideas, events and movements while creating a community and network of individuals to pass knowledge and skills to others allowing them to become leaders themselves. The Program aims to create leaders of tomorrow by helping youth gain extensive skill set needed to excel both professionally and personally while giving back to the community.

EmpowHer fosters courage in the womxn in our community because it allows them to own their confidence and to embrace strengths that may be been overseen in the past. For many, personal development is an uncomfortable process, but we have learned that with a supportive community womxn can push their barriers and become the womxn they aspire to be. EmpowHer is here to support you regardless of where you are in your life.

Our programs predominately focus on two features that address the barriers that many youth and newcomers experience such as the lack of Canadian/work experience, confidence, and the challenges presented for those that struggle to find their positionality within Peel Region.  EmpowHer and Youth Lead are currently recruiting for our cohort in September 2020. We are looking for the following:

  • Newcomer youth from ages 14-24
  • Newcomer youth from ages 18-29 who identify themselves as womxn. However, with the RBC sponsorship which will offer free google certification in digital literacy to our participants, we have been able to extend our age bracket to 45 years old.
