The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund prioritizes reciprocal relationships with Indigenous Peoples, and welcomes applications written ‘by community for community’. The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund is an Indigenous-led public foundation that funds “non-qualified donees” (not-for-profits, grassroots organizations) and “qualified donees” (charities and Indigenous community governments) undertaking charitable activity for charitable purposes. Therefore, applications from for-profit or social enterprises are ineligible for funding. The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund prioritizes funding community-informed and community-led solutions and initiatives which are often “closest to the ground”, at the grassroots, and furthest from financial and funding opportunities. The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund asks that you be mindful and ‘take only what you need, use all of what you take’ in the spirit of Indigenous ways of sustainability and honourable harvesting, so that they can care for those that need their support the most.
