The Government of Canada has launched a call for proposals for community-based projects through the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP). The program is a federal grants and contributions program that provides funding for projects that make a difference in the lives of seniors.
Program objectives
- Promote volunteerism among seniors and other generations
- Engage seniors in the community through the mentoring of others
- Expand awareness of elder abuse, including financial abuse
- Support the social participation and inclusion of seniors
- Provide capital assistance for new and existing community projects and programs for seniors
Funding amount: Community-based projects are eligible to receive up to $25,000 in grant funding for 1 year.
Application period: August 6, 2025, to September 17, 2025, at 3:00 pm, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
Who can apply: Eligible organizations can apply for up to $25,000 for projects that are led by seniors and are volunteer-based.
