United Way Simcoe Muskoka invites organizations operating in rural and remote communities across Ontario to submit applications for funding consideration for projects starting April 1, 2026. This is a part of Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy, a community-based program aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness across Canada.
A total of $2,000,000 will be available for one-year Capital projects.
United Way Simcoe Muskoka will be using an Expression of Interest process opening on September 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM, closing on October 27, 2025, at 5:00 PM. All interested applicants must submit an Expression of Interest in order to access the application portal.
Other funding opportunity information:
- Organizations must be located outside of a Designated Community to be eligible under the Rural & Remote stream. The full list of Designated Communities can be found here; Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada – Ontario
- Eligible Recipients include:
- Not-for-profit organizations
- For-profit organizations, as per the Reaching Home Terms and Conditions;
- Municipalities;
- Indigenous organizations;
- Public health and educational institutions; and,
- Provincial and territorial governments and their entities, including institutions, agencies, and Crown Corporations.
This funding call is for one-year Capital projects only, for a one-year funding term from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.
