The Government of Ontario launched the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant, which provides funding to help communities and organizations purchase emergency supplies, equipment and services. The grants range from $5,000 to $50,000 and aim to enhance readiness and response capabilities in communities across Ontario.
The funding covers:
- chain saws
- generators
- sandbag machines
- training delivery and education
- exercise planning and coordination
Deadline to apply: October 28, 2025, at 5 p.m. EST.
Eligible applicants for Round 3 (2025 to 2026) include:
- municipalities with a population under 100,000 (Statistics Canada data from 2021)
- local services boards established under the Northern Services Boards Act
- Indigenous communities and organizations, including Tribal Councils, and other Indigenous service organizations
- non-municipal fire departments or entities providing fire protection services as defined in the Fire Protection and Prevention Act in unincorporated Ontario
