The Charity Insights Canada Project (CICP) published insights into volunteer workforce trends & challenges in Canada. According to the research, 47% of participating charities have sufficient volunteers to meet their needs, while 41% indicated they needed more volunteers.
Regarding volunteer fluctuations, nearly half (49%) reported volunteer numbers remained steady over the past year, and nearly one-third indicated that they experienced an increase in the number of volunteers (26% somewhat, 5% significantly). The majority of participating charities reported experiencing challenges recruiting volunteers (slightly challenging: 28%, moderately challenging: 30%, very challenging 21%).
