What do you want to know about volunteering?
As part of an Ask Me Anything segment, we’re gathering questions from people across Canada who volunteer now, have volunteered in the past, or are thinking about getting started with volunteering for the first time. Your questions will help shape a discussion featuring sector experts focused on the volunteer experience.
We’re especially interested in questions about topics like using volunteering to gain career experience, including volunteer work on your resume, finding virtual or flexible volunteer roles, identifying the right fit, getting started when you’re new to Canada or new to the sector, and making the most of your volunteer experience. Or, perhaps you have another question you’d like answered?
We invite you to record yourself asking your question and submit it through our online form. Video recordings will be used in our Ask Me Anything session that will be aired on YouTube, as well as used in short clips across social media channels.
What questions are shaping volunteer engagement today?
With volunteer engagement changing so rapidly in Canada, it’s no wonder so many organizations are struggling to keep up. We are also inviting nonprofit professionals and organizations that recruit, manage, support, and retain volunteers to share their questions.
This Ask Me Anything segment will focus on the practical and strategic challenges facing volunteer programs today, including recruitment, retention, onboarding, screening, role design, recognition, inclusion, flexible and virtual volunteering, staff capacity, risk management, and adapting to changing volunteer expectations. Submitted questions should be text-based and may reflect big-picture issues, day-to-day challenges, or emerging trends your organization is trying to navigate.
