The Indigenous Peoples in the Workplace: Examining Employment, Discrimination, Training and Artificial Intelligence Use Report builds on previous Diversity Institute research by using data from Wave 8 of the Survey on Employment and Skills, which was conducted by the Environics Institute for Survey Research, in partnership with the Future Skills Centre and the Diversity Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University. Wave 8 of the survey was administered from March to April 2025 to explore the experiences of Indigenous Peoples in the workplace.

The report aims to answer the question: How do the experiences of Indigenous People in the workplace differ from those of the general population? Key areas that are explored include Indigenous Peoples’ technology use, their experiences of discrimination and access to opportunities for training. This project also used a diversity and intersectional lens to compare the experiences of Indigenous women and Indigenous men.
