The Foundation for Black Communities invites nominations for this year’s Community Selection Circles for their B.I.G. – Black Ideas Grant 4.0 program. B.I.G. 4.0 represents an $8 million investment in community-driven initiatives that are creating positive change, advancing opportunities, and strengthening Black communities across Canada. As the foundation prepares for the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 4.0, they are once again seeking to expand and diversify the perspectives represented in their Community Selection Circles.
The Foundation for Black Communities uses a Participatory Grantmaking approach, one that values collaboration, shared decision-making, and the lived experiences, knowledge, and expertise of Black communities. Through this approach, grant funding decisions are informed by Black community members serving on the Community Selection Circles, ensuring that community voices remain at the heart of the process.
Individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, regions, and sectors are invited to join in helping shape funding decisions that reflect the priorities and aspirations of Black communities. The Foundation for Black Communities encourages you to nominate yourself or any member of your network you believe would be a beneficial member of this year’s Community Selection Circles.
Nomination Deadline: August 21, 2026 at 12:00 PM PT
