Applications for Community Opportunity Fund funding are now open, with up to $900,000 available for projects supporting employment opportunities for Quebec’s English-speaking communities.
The Community Opportunity Fund, led by YES Employment + Entrepreneurship and funded by the Government of Canada through the Enabling Fund for Official Language Minority Communities (OLMCs), supports projects that help members of Quebec’s English-speaking communities prepare for, find, and maintain employment.
Direct employment assistance to clients is the central focus of the COF. Every funded project must include services such as employment counselling, résumé or interview support, or job-search assistance. Funding can also support related activities that strengthen and complement those services.
Two funding streams are available:
Stream One — Organizations not requiring M-30 authorization
  • Project period: April 1, 2027–March 31, 2029
  • Project duration: Six to 24 months
  • Maximum amount: $900,000, with up to $450,000 per year
Stream Two — Organizations requiring M-30 authorization
  • Project period: October 1, 2027–March 31, 2029
  • Project duration: Six to 18 months
  • Maximum amount: $675,000, with up to $450,000 per year
To be considered an OLMC organization, an applicant’s mission, programs, services, or activities must primarily support Quebec’s English-speaking communities. Indigenous organizations where English is the first official language used are not required to identify as OLMC organizations for the COF’s eligibility purposes.
