Applications are now open for the Straz Strong Foundation’s 2026 grant programs, with funding of up to $7,500 available to Canadian athletes and up to $5,000 for community programs to support the purchase of adaptive sport equipment.

The Straz Strong Foundation supports individuals with disabilities by helping expand access to adaptive sports and technology. Its grant programs are designed to remove barriers, create more inclusive opportunities to participate in sport, and help athletes pursue their performance goals.

Two grant streams are available:

Community-Based Grants

  • Open to eligible Canadian community programs
  • Maximum amount: $5,000
  • Funding supports the purchase of adaptive sport equipment
  • Applications will be assessed based on community impact, the number of participants who will benefit, and the program’s potential to create more inclusive adaptive sport opportunities

High Performance Grants

  • Open to eligible Canadian athletes
  • Maximum amount: $7,500
  • Funding supports personalized adaptive sport equipment tailored to an athlete’s specific needs
  • Applications will be assessed based on individual potential, commitment to training and performance, and how the equipment will support personal and competitive goals

Selected High Performance Grant recipients may also be invited to participate in the Foundation’s RISE | DEFY documentary series, which highlights the journeys, progress, and experiences of athletes supported by the organization.

Application deadline: October 1, 2026
