For more than 30 years, CharityVillage has worked alongside Canada’s nonprofit sector, helping organizations find talented people, strengthen their teams, and build their capacity to serve their communities.

Today, we are excited to announce the next step in that work: CharityVillage is supporting the relaunch and expansion of Volunteer Success, a registered charitable organization and national platform dedicated to strengthening volunteerism across Canada.

Volunteer Success was founded by Brian Prosserman, whose extraordinary work, vision, and commitment created an engaging online platform and a strong foundation for connecting volunteers with the communities and causes that need them. CharityVillage’s goal is to build on Brian’s remarkable legacy by expanding Volunteer Success’s reach, introducing new services, and developing training, eLearning, and other practical resources to support volunteers and the organizations that engage them.

We know that volunteers are essential to the work of charities and nonprofits. But we also know that finding, engaging, and retaining volunteers has become increasingly challenging. Organizations need better tools to connect with people who want to contribute, and Canadians need easier, more meaningful ways to find opportunities that match their interests, skills, and availability.

That is the challenge Volunteer Success is ready to take on as it enters an exciting new chapter of growth and impact to strengthen volunteerism across Canada.

Volunteer Success is a federally incorporated nonprofit organization and registered charity, governed by its own board and operated in furtherance of its charitable mission. CharityVillage serves as its corporate member and provides strategic, operational, and technical support to help Volunteer Success grow its reach and impact. The two organizations remain legally and financially separate, and Volunteer Success retains sole responsibility for its charitable programs, resources, and decisions.

This relationship brings together an alliance of two complementary strengths: CharityVillage’s long-standing connection to Canada’s nonprofit community and Volunteer Success’s focused charitable mission to promote and strengthen volunteerism.

Over the coming months, Volunteer Success plans to expand its platform, develop new resources, and create more ways for nonprofit organizations and prospective volunteers to find and support one another.  The goal is not simply to create another place to post volunteer opportunities. It is to help build a stronger, more accessible, and more resilient volunteer ecosystem across Canada.

We look forward to sharing more in the future, and, most importantly, to help build the next chapter of Volunteer Success in partnership with the organizations, volunteer-engagement professionals, and the volunteers who make this sector possible.
