Applications are now open for the Black Entrepreneurship Program Ecosystem Fund, which is an initiative that aims to break down barriers and create opportunities for Black entrepreneurs. The Fund strengthens the Black entrepreneurship ecosystem by supporting Black-led not-for-profit organizations to deliver high-impact business services from mentorship and networking to training, outreach and capacity building. The Ecosystem Fund supports projects that will address gaps and/or build the capacity of Black entrepreneurs and business owners in southern Ontario.

Eligibility

    • Minimum two-thirds of leadership positions (directors, founders, etc.) in the organization are occupied primarily by people who self-identify as Black.
    • A governance structure (volunteer committee, advisory board, eldership circle, etc.), which is composed primarily of people who self-identify as Black (minimum two-thirds of positions).
    • A mandate, activities and outcomes that are focused on supporting members of Black communities.
