Food Banks Canada released the 2024 Poverty Report Cards, which provide an overview of how well poverty reduction efforts are trending at the provincial, territorial, and federal government levels. The Report Cards explore poverty across Canada and highlight areas of improvement for social policy. Food Banks Canada has employed a framework for grading based on how provinces and territories compare with each other regarding experiences of poverty, measurements of poverty, standards of living, and government progress on passing anti-poverty legislation. The Report Cards aim to help policymakers and advocates advocate for effective policies to tackle poverty.
