The Charity Insights Canada Project (CICP) published insights into the Canadian corporate charitable giving landscape. According to the research, 36% of charities have received financial support from corporate donors in the last 12 months, while 26% of charities have not pursued corporate donors. The majority of charities noted that their corporate giving revenue has stayed about the same (38%), while 17% of participating charities noted a slight increase.

Survey Highlights:

  • 53% of charities noted that a lack of internal capacity to pursue or manage partnerships is a significant barrier to their organization’s ability to secure corporate support.
  • 48% of charities indicated that limited or no existing relationships with corporate contacts are significant barriers to their organization’s ability to secure corporate support.
  • 79% of charities noted that unrestricted financial contributions would be a valuable form of corporate giving.
  • 53% of charities indicated that event sponsorships or project-based funding would be valuable forms of corporate giving.
