CanadaHelps has launched a COVID-19 Charity Adaptation and Innovation Fund. Funds raised will help charities transform their service model to invest in technology so they can adapt existing or create new programs to serve those most in need. Support will help other charities keep their employees, volunteers, clients, and participants safe with training, education, new sanitation practices, and will purchase materials such as personal protective equipment or plexiglass barriers. Other charities will develop new strategies, collaborate with other nonprofits, and explore new ways of serving their constituents so they survive today, and through the remainder of this crisis.
The Fund includes 400 registered charities representing a diverse set of causes across Canada. The charities in this Fund were invited to apply and explain their needs and plans to adapt to COVID-19. Charities that met the criteria for the Fund were included on a first-come, first-served basis, up to a maximum of 400 charities. To ensure donations reach charities easily and efficiently, charities must be one of the more than 20,000 charities registered to receive funds electronically from CanadaHelps. Funds will be transferred monthly, subject to a minimum of $10 per charity. Read about why we launched this Fund here.
