An acclaimed author, some of his notable works include “The Burden of Care,” highlighting low job satisfaction among nonprofit workers; “Wake-Up Call, detailing 10 shifts in the nonprofit sector post-pandemic)” and “Trust and Impact,” a groundbreaking report on the move towards trust-based philanthropy and unrestricted funding. Each report has been recognized among the top 10 nonprofit sector reports by PANL Perspectives at Carleton University. His research has been mentioned in more than 1000 publications worldwide.

Akela Peoples
CEO, Mental Health Research Canada
Akela Peoples is pleased and honoured to be leading Mental Health Research Canada. She holds a master’s degree in Education and Executive Leadership Certificates from Harvard University, Western University’s Ivey School of Business and the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. A values-driven, impact-focused leader, Akela has twice been awarded the WXN Top 100: Canada’s Most Powerful Women award, as well as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, the YWCA Award of Distinction and the Paul Harris Award from Rotary International.

Anne-Marie Newton
President & CEO, CAMH Foundation
Anne-Marie Newton is President & CEO of CAMH Foundation, where she leads efforts to advance mental health through philanthropy in support of Canada’s leading mental health hospital. She previously served as the Foundation’s Chief Philanthropy Officer, playing a key role in the success of the $600M+ No One Left Behind campaign.

Dr. Kate Toth
Director of Coaching & Partner Success, YMCA WorkWell
Dr. Kate Toth is the Director of Coaching & Partner Success at YMCA WorkWell, a social enterprise on a mission to improve workplace well-being across Canada’s nonprofit and charitable sectors. With a background in coaching, organizational development, HR and post-secondary education, she’s passionate about helping purpose-driven teams build cultures where people actually want to come to work.

Mitzie Hunter
President & CEO, Canadian Women’s Foundation
Mitzie Hunter is a dynamic leader with 30 years of experience working in the private and non-profit sectors, and in government. She was the first Black woman to serve as Ontario’s Minister of Education, she was also Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development and Associate Minister of Finance. Today she is President and CEO of the Canadian Women’s Foundation and a respected advocate for women, girls, and gender-diverse people across the country.
